Fish with hands?

Sounds strange? Well you’ll be surprised to hear it’s a reality. Nine new species of fish have been found in Tasmania, Australia which all do have human like hands. Each fish moves in different ways in fact one of the fishes do not even swim it has leg like limbs which it use to walk across the bottom of shallow waters which is where they have been found.

These fish are poorly studied and have only just been identified as unique species due to its structure, fins and vertebrate. All of these fish are found off the coastal waters of southern Australia.

Lizards could be extinct

It’s very possible that Lizards will soon become and extinct species. Well not so soon probably a little exaggerated but still a cause for concern. Experts warn that by 2080 lizard species could be extinct. It is being blamed on the exponential growth rate of global warming in the world. Rising temperatures mean that lizards will continue to find it difficult to hunt for food as they mainly stick around shaded areas.

It seems that no matter what efforts are made to curb global warming 6 per cent of lizards will definitely be extinct by 2080. Essentially global warming will cause lizards to starve to death.

BP responsible for sperm whale death

The recent oil spill by the UK energy giant BP has sparked condemnation around the world for a number of reasons. One reason being is that they are potentially responsible for wiping out the sperm whales in the Gulf of Mexico with their oil spill. Experts say that just three deaths could push the population over the edge.

The oil can affect sperm whales in a number of ways including other sea life like dolphins etc:
• Coming up for air will results in them taking in toxic fumes
• The fumes could also knock adult whales causing them to drown to death
• The oil will affect their prey which will in turn effect their diets aswell causing them to die

Brain Training for Dogs?

That title is a little misleading I’ll admit, however it is closely related. Scientists have identified a range of nutrients that will boost the memory and learning abilities of our canine friends. It has been developed as more of an anti-ageing product for older dogs to boost memory function as with older dogs, they suffer from a decline in brain cells.

Dogs spend half their live in seniority and they are on the increase in the UK. It is that one human years counts 7 dog years. This is a fast ageing process and anything like this can help especially with learning.

New species list

Here are some new species to find out about:

• Psychedelic Frogfish
A crazy looking little thing which could potentially scare the living daylights out of a lot of people. Each ones pattern are supposed to be a unique as a human fingerprint. It was found in the shallow waters of Indonesia and made it ways quickly into the top ten new species.

• Green Bomber Worm
Sounds worrying but it’s not really. Looks like an interesting little creature and made its way into the top ten species due to its behaviour. Found in deep seas of California.

• Dracula Minnow
This sounds like we are going to be invaded by a bunch of Dracula type fish but don’t worry thats not the case. Interestingly the teeth are quite sharp and do have the effect of a Dracula cartoon except they are attached to a fish. Found in Burma
