Some of my friends have dogs, some have cats, some have fish, some have rabbits and one of my friends even has an Iguana. All have one thing in common – They make the owners happy. Most people work so do not have the time to properly look after their animal but in the mornings, evenings and weekends you always see these animals out in the sunshine – whether it be on a walk or just simply playing in a garden. I personally think that fish are the easiest animals to look after. You feed them a few crumbs of fish food a couple of times a day, change their water once in a blue moon and it is just so calming and relaxing when you see them swimming around their home. People say a dog is a man’s best friend – I disagree, I think fish are. Cats are always causing problems and are a very selfish creatures. Fish never bark when they want/need something, fish never get upset when you don’t give them enough attention and fish are cheap as chips – no pun intended. I think everybody from small boy/girl to an old couple should own a fish or two. They are the greatest animal ever!!

Rabbits United
My friend has a rabbit called Fergie – named after the greatest manager in modern football (Sir Alex Ferguson).
He is grey & has a black mark on his chest & is a very intelligent rabbit by all accounts. He also likes to play football – something I am sure my friend hasn’t taught him – as he is rubbish at Football.
A funny thing happened last year when I was round at my friends house and Fergie was playing outside of his hutch, he had found a few leaves and couldn’t quite get at them to eat, the leaves were on top of a football in the corner of the garden & every time Fergie tried to get the leaves, all he would do is head the football.
The leaves never did come down off that football – probably because my friend had glued them on to the ball, in the hope that Fergie would head the ball & cause much amusement for friends and family.
Now that the summer is here I have noticed than when I go round to my friends, not only are the leaves STILL on the football….. but Fergie is always hanging around it and kicking at the ball with his back legs. And I thought Rabbits were intelligent.
Fish are friends
I have 2 fish called Rocky & Apollo & believe me they are fighters.
I love my 2 fish & every time I walk through my door they’re they are swimming about without a care in the word. Now surely that is the perfect pet to have for a bloke. Low maintenance, relaxing to watch & doesn’t ever want for anything.
Cats demand food by miow-ing & never stopping until their food is ready to be eaten, dogs bark their head off at the slightest change in the temperature & don’t get me started on rabbits or hamsters. Surely it would be more fun to keep a rat in a box than to have a rabbit.
I wouldn’t change my fish for the world and when the time comes & they end up kicking the bucket and ultimately lying on top of the water, I simply flush them down the toilet, get in the car, nip to my local aquarium and choose another one.
Simples!!
A man’s best friend
My dog is called Miko (prounced Meeko).
He is named after a Swedish chap that my aunty Hillary met in Majorca. He is a yellow Labrador (please note that retrievers are golden & Labradors are yellow) He has a white mark on his chest & is a very intelligent dog – as all Labradors are.
A funny thing happened last year when Miko was playing outside, he had found a cat called Mac (the neighbours black & white cat), Mac was on top of the changing room next to the swimming pool & Miko was barking furiously at him.
Mac jumped down and as he landed Miko went for him, skidded and they both fell into the swimming pool. Labradors are good swimmers, cats not so good.
Luckily I was there with my fishing rod & I put some tuna on the end of my hook and Mac swam towards it & they both got dried off near the roaring fireplace in the lounge.
Now that the summer is here I have noticed a log more cats hanging around & Miko loves to protect the homestead and bark until they all run off home.
Cats vs Dogs – the big debate
I have a dog called Baxter and my dad’s fiancée (hazel) has a cat called baloo.
I love my dog and every time I walk through my door he runs down the stairs, barks his head off & wags his tail. Now surely that is a welcome that any man, woman or child would want?
Hazel’s Cat is nowhere to be seen when she comes home from a hard day at work, the majority of the time he is up to know good and playing inside his cardboard box – where he thinks he can hide without anybody seeing him.
Cats demand food by meowing & never stopping until their food is ready to be eaten.
Dogs are happy to be fed & afterwards they just become affectionate & cuddle up in the lounge.
A man is the pack leader for the dog he has under control, otherwise the dog will run riot.
A cat is a totally different animal and owes the owner, it does not respond to being disciplined (as a dog would do) and tends to do exactly what is wants to do and when it wants to do.
