Bees are great pollinators so are useful for your garden. You will obviously also benefit from producing your own beeswax and honey. Bee populations are on the decline in the UK so keeping them is actually helping the environment.

You don’t need a huge garden to keep bees but you should make sure that your neighbours are ok about it before you invest in any equipment.

There is an abundance of beekeeping advice to be found in the internet and there are also many books available on the subject. You may find that there are bee keeping clubs and associations in your area so have a chat with them before you take the plunge.
